Museum of Surrey

The newly expanded Museum of Surrey serves its diverse community as a cultural meeting space. As one of the fastest growing cities in Canada there was a need to expand; along with refreshing the museums mission, vision, and brand for the facility. 


Connecting People and Stories.


The tagline and branding was inspired by both the city’s diverse population and the museum’s rich collections and programs. 


The typography was built from a series of shapes inspired by the rich cultural diversity of the city of Surrey. The museum is a place where people can come together to celebrate, to commemorate, to share, to inspire and to learn. 


Our exploration of the large and expansive textile collection held at the museum revealed common tones, a mosaic of cultures and a colourful community. 


Blue, pink, red and yellow were the four key tones derived from the collection. 


The City of Surrey were over joyed with the outcome of the branding. We were engaged to lead the design and strategy of the signage and wayfinding of the site.
